South Maui Food & Drink ... 'cuz you can't be on the Beach 24/7!

We're going to be honest and up front regards food and drink. Most of our food $$$ are spent at Costco, Safeway, FoodLand and Star Market ... or one of the 'farmers' markets'. We don't pretend to be food critics ... and we know there are many good to great retaurants we will skip here. We're also sure there are some absolutely terrible ones we're missing, too.

What you'll get here is honest reviews of what we call our "confort zones". We prefer a comfortable pub with friendly people. Our time is normally Happy Hour ... so there won't be a lot of late night (ater 9PM sad to say ...) entertainment news here.

What is your Food & Drink 'check-list' ???

High end haut cuisine??? Sorry ... this ain't the place for those reviews. Oh sure ... we like a Wailea dinner as much as anyone. But we'd rather spend another day ... week ... or month on Maui - even if it means forgoing big dinner tabs.
MaiTai??? ... Now you didn't come all this way just to stay with your gin & tonic ... or scotch & soda, did you? MaiTais are wonderful tropical concoctions ... and each pub and restaurant makes them just a little differently. It's a real drink ... and not too sweet - which we like. MaiTais are featured almost everywhere during Happy Hours (most commonly 3PM to 6PM).
Beer??? ... most South Maui pubs, bars and restaurants take their beers seriously ... and offer a wide selection. Some feature great Hawaiian brews such as Maui Brewing Company's Bikini Blonde Lager and Big Swell IPA or Kona Brewing Company's Longboard Lager . Happy Hours usually features Bud Light and/or Bud and/or Steinlager as the discounted beers. However, follow our lead and we'll get more places to put real beers like Bikini Blonde and Longboard on their Happy Hour specials list.
