Po'olenalena is a 'Locals'' Beach. Access to this Gem brings you back to an earlier time on Maui - it's one of the few Beaches with an unpaved parking area.
Bring your beach chairs and snorkel gear. If you get there early enough there are alcoves with mixed Shade and Sun and you won't need your beach umbrella until after noon.
Po'olenalena is two Beaches in one! The obvious beach is west and south of the parking area. North of the lava reef (there is a path from the northwest corner of the parking area) is a Beautiful, nearly deserted 1/4 mile stretch of Sand.
